It is unclear when, or if, Bowie will have a dedicated animal shelter, animal holding space or both.
Animal advocates, especially citizens to local Animal Welfare (CLAW), continued lobbying the City Council of Bowie to animal shelters, which they say would allow the owner a few days to take a missing pet them rather than having to go to the local animal control facility in Upper Marlboro.
CLAW proposed that the former Office of the Police Department in Bowie Kenhill converted to animal shelters. Their proposal is currently on the list of capital raising for the year after next.
CLAW lobbied the City Council of Bowie to move up the building of shelters for next year. A decision on whether the case is expected when the City Government put together with the budget in the spring.
“We were able to contribute $ 100,000 to the project that we received from an anonymous donor and we signed up for the country to a grant of $ 50,000,” the CLAWS Of Connie Carter says the Patch.
